hi all

just wondering if anyone's tried mandrake 9.2 yet.....
i upgraded from 8.2, yeah, pretty old and tired, and all seem fine
except there are some odd glitches.
the boot script spits out some strange errors, like help messages when
you've passed the wrong option...
and then i logged in and chose GNOME and there are no
words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! only icons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
no words on any of the menus on any programs. so its unusable.
enlightenment works, fortunatley.
havent tried kde yet.

a friend of mine suggested that it could be the upgrade process, or a
faulty disc.
i know discs tend to barf completely though if they're faulty, with
mandrake....

maybe i should wipe and reinstall, using a seperate partition for
/home.... he also suggested that, so i dont have to wipe my own
documents each time i reinstall... could be cleaner....

any thoughts?

thanxx

m~
