[Techtalk] Too many files open

Only saw this today...

I'd try some monitoring only this network is about 1500miles away and not
connected.

Another list I posted to on the subject came up with a suggestion of 1024
files per login.  Users have KDE as their default desktop which I'm told
is hungry enough with the files.
