All that says is that the name lookup worked. If
myhost.homenet.cablespeed.com is the hostname of your gateway, then
packets have not gone any further than that (I am guessing that
10.10.10.50 is your laptop's IP address -- knowing either of these
things would, of course, help).
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
