[Techtalk] communicating with a switch

       Good to hear form you.

       See you have loads of help with minicom.....yes I use it and
it seems to work fine.   If you need more help I can help you.

       Often, when in a hurry I just use to terminal windows,
'cat /dev/ttyS1'  in one and 'echo "commands" > /dev/ttyS1'
in the other.

        Of course you will have to do the setup with the
'stty -F /dev/ttyS1 -all'  ...... 

       Remember serial communication is not a trivial thing.
