But the two don't necessarily go together.
One of the reasons for top posting, actually, has to do with repetitive
stress injuries and folks who *don't* snip and *do* bottom post---top
posting in that context permits avoiding all that scrolling unless you
really need to know what came before. And many of us with these issues
simply won't bother to scroll down three screens to see what someone added
at the bottom---both from cumulative pain and because experience says that
as often as not it's nothing more interesting than a "me too" after you get
there.
It seems to me that if you're snipping well, and being terse yourself, it
doesn't really matter much which side you write on: both are visible on the
screen simultaneously anyhow.
