Hi Terri,

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll give it a try using gpm to see if it makes a difference. However, I have a couple questions about gpm. First, my system does not have a /dev/gpmdata. It has /dev/psaux and /dev/mouse (a link) as shown below. Can I just create /dev/gpmdata with the same major and minor numbers as /dev/psaux? Or should I create it as a soft link to /dev/psaux?

  dom at linux:~> ls -l /dev/mouse /dev/psaux /dev/gpmdata
  ls: /dev/gpmdata: No such file or directory
  lrwxrwxrwx    1 root     root           10 2003-01-25 20:26 /dev/mouse -> /dev/psaux
  crw-rw----    1 root     root      10,   1 2003-01-25 20:27 /dev/psaux

Second, my system does not have the /etc/gpm.conf file (even though gpm is installed). Do I just create this file manually, or is there a program that I should run to create it?

Thanks very much for your help.

Dom
