RH 8.0 here and formerly RH 7.2 -- I despise up2date and the whole package 
manager business. For me, I just can't stand hunting down all the libs and 
sos for the rpms.

Other than that, I really like 8.0, couple little dingers (like no dvd or mp3 
-- ya gotta go get that stuff on your own), but once I installed apt-rpm, 
life is good. (http://apt-rpm.tuxfamily.org/). There's also a gui (synaptic) 
available but the command line on this is actually faster.
