Presumably the driver is loading and initialising succesfully?

hmm, how does the cards BIOS feel about things? does it say that all the
drives are happy, and present in the RAID 5 set? does it say the RAID 5
set is happy?  do you have any other SCSI devices that you can plug in and
test it with?
