Before investing much time into studying
this book, which I got real cheap at a
used book store, could someone tell me
if it is still relevant ?
Linux Device Drivers by A. Rubini
O'Reilly 1998 First Edition
concentrates on kernels 2.0.x and 1.2.13
I know most Linux distributions are
using 2.4.x and that 2.6 is expected out in
a few months, but has writting drivers
for Linux changed that much since the
days of 2.0.x ? I wouldn't know, since
I've never written one, yet.
Computer books are so damn expensive.
If this book is no good, is there any free
docs on the Net about writting Linux device
drivers I could download?
