Sorry for the double post. I must've hit a shortcut key while filling
in the subject line.  Anyway, I got someone to look at my computer
today and after messing around with the Xfree86 config files, we
agreed it would easier to just to reinstall linux.  Just for the
record, I use Red Hat 8, so there really wasn't a need to upgrade
Xfree86 to begin with. For some reason I got the impression I needed
to - this is what happens when you try to do too many things when
you're tired.
