[Techtalk] Problems with email - sporadic delivery

For some reason I can't seem to get my roomate's mail to work anymore and I
have no idea why. I would appreciate any help figuring out what may be
happening.

First of all, the mail is stored on my PC. It's a Slackware 8.1 box running
a DSL connection all the time. I host two domains on the computers.
jenn.ca and parchelo.com. The computers on the LAN all have jenn.ca
domains.

I use zoneedit to update my dns as the connection is PPPoE. For email, I
use zoneedit.com to forward email to mailboxes on our ISPs server Sympatico,
and then I use fetchmail to pull the mail into the LAN and then it is
accessible via IMAP and POP3, though it is configured to IMAP.

All mail that is sent to my account gets there (jsd at jenn.ca), well I have
not had a test that has failed. She hasn't seemed to get email since
September 23. On September 25, I changed the pop3 server that she used from
her university account to a mainbox my ISP and changed the zoneedit mail
forward record and .fetchmailrc (which I have set to probe every 10
minutes).

Now, it seems that when I test for errors, not all the mail goes through.
This is a sample of an error message I got from sending an email to her
mailbox from my work account. Since I use Outlook, so much is hidden from
view, like the headers on returned mail.

<carla at parchelo.com>: Relay access denied

I have no idea where the relay access is being denied and why....as far as I
can tell, the only relaying done is through zoneedit and, it seems to be
only affecting her domain....I am going to call some friends and have them
send her emails to see how many errors I get, but I just don't have any
ideas here, especially since I depend on two other organisations to handle
my email before I get it...

Aye Caramba!
