[Techtalk] online kiss goodbye

Well, I can't seem to do anything online from Linux (RHL 7.3). Dialing from 
the dial-up configuration wizard on kde3, it says: can't resolve the pages 
(nor can check mails).

The /var/log/messages says: modprobe: can't do ppp compression. Wow!!!!

The connection just sits there without doing a thing.

Flushed the iptables and commented the tcp_wrapper.

Any clue or help pls.
