[Techtalk] Etymology: Pooched

Pooched, n, broken.

	Does anyone know where this word came from?  Recently, I've heard it
from an auto mechanic, and its use is common with the techs here in the
Department.  I, of course, assume misogyny, when I hear new words from such
"masculine" sources.  Perhaps that's just my own expectation and/or
prejudice.
