I believe that the workgroup is in your smb.conf file, under workgroup =

Subject: [Techtalk] domain name problem

I recently upgraded to SuSE 8.0 and am running into a problem with the
domain name being seen correctly by Windows machines. The SuSE Linux
machine is being placed in a workgroup called "arbeitsgruppe" which is not
the workgroup name housing all the other computers. When I click on Entire
Network in Windows I get two workgroups, one being the normal one that has
all of my computers in it and the other one being the "arbeitsgruppe"
workgroup which is just holding my SuSE Linux computer. I have searched the
various 'host' files, HOSTNAME, etc., but I cannot locate the name
"arbeitsgruppe" to change it. Any ideas where this name might be so that I
can change it and get all my computers in the same workgroup.

Thanks for any assistance that you can give.
