I am thinking about the possibility of running a course in Python, so I
would like to
know if you are interested.

If you have been using Linux for a while you have probably heard of Python,
but in
case you aren't sure what it I will give a very brief description. Python
is a
cross-platform object-oriented language which can be used for scripting and
larger
programs. It has similarities to lots of languages including C, (actually
intentionally
C, to appeal to people in the "Unix/C world"), although it is much faster
development
time. Python can be extended with C or any C compatible language.

I would probably work through the O'Reilly book "Programming with Python"
by Mark
Lutz, but I am quite happy to do it some other way if there is someone who
doesn't want
to buy the book. I don't think that it is necessary that you have
experience programming.
Although please tell me if you don't, so that I can take that into
consideration.

I would like to start say around 1st July.

Please email me privately so that I can see if there is enough interest to
run a course.

Sue
