Hello,
lately I've been looking for a new monitor for my box. I'm currently
running Mandrake 8.1 but I could upgrade at anytime to 8.2. I'm really only
interested in buying a flat screen LCD style, b/t $300-600. so far the ACER
BENQ FP751 sounds promising

=FP751&Category_Code=Monitors

Or the AOC LM 700 Flat Panel
http://www.alvio.com/pmoreinfo.asp?iid=897

Both are 17" models. Neither are listed in the supported hardware for
mandrake 8.2 or 8.1 but both of them have precursor models listed. i.e. AOC
LM500 a 15" model and the ACER FP 551 and 851. I'm pretty sure that both of
the monitors that I'm looking at will work.

Does anyone have any personal experience with either brand? I've only had a
Samsung and a Compaq before. I did have an AOC briefly but it had to be
returned b/c it didn't work properly. :) but I'm going to assume its an
isolated incident, probably occurred during shipping.
Does anyone have any recommendations for other flat panel type monitors for
mandrake that aren't too expensive i.e. >$700 ?

Also if anyone knows a supplier that they trust and would recommend that has
the model they are recommending that would also be appreciated.

Thanks.
