I'm struggling with this at the moment.
I have a 2.4.17 kernel.

If I install the pcmcia-cs package modules I get a whole slew of unresolved
symbol errors (the package modules don't seem to know anything about the
interface at all... pcmcia_register_socket, pcmcia_get_card_services_info,
all sorts of things the kernel expects just aren't there).

If I don't install the pcmcia-cs modules, there isn't the unresolved symbols
error, but nothing works. (Nothing shows up in /proc/modules, nor
/dev/pcmcia).

Any clues where to start looking for problems?
