[Techtalk] dd copy of 75 GB disk to 80 GB disk

I think you won't be able to dd unless the drives are the same size.  you
may instead be able to install your os on the new drive and then cpio all
the stuff over afterwards.
Incidentally, what went wrong with the drive? if it won't spin up, you won't
be able to get anythign off it at all.
