hi again :)
yeah.. more questions... hehe ;-)
i'm running gdm, on Mandrake 8.2 - did a bit of reading up on it last night,
yeah it seems to be a strange security setting - they were okay while i was
running it last night, but now the entries for Fluxbox, Gnome, IceWM and XFce
are back to being 644 instead of 755.. permissions for the gdm folder are
755..
strangely IceWM is kind of redundant because i uninstalled it.. but the others
are still there and running okay if i type them in a terminal....

i changed the permissions, logged out and restarted X last night, and they
stayed the same - so its definately something that happens on reboot...
so the permissions were okay then, but i couldnt start Gnome from gdm still,
it and the other two new entries just came up as an Xterm on a blank blue
screen.... they still run okay if launched from a terminal while another
window manager is running though....

weird....

thanx heaps
m
