Subject: [Techtalk] Star Office 6

Hi Techtalkers,

For anyone who's into to doing something besides endlessly tweak your
boxen -I know, it's fun, who needs anything else? ;-) - Star Office 6
is quite nice. There's some installation weirdness, the instructions are
a CD install, which isn't very helpful for the download version. And
there is
no CD.

If, like me, you tried 5.x and loathed it, give it another try. It's had
major overhaul. I'm confused by the relationship between StarOffice and
OpenOffice, but oh well, it'll sort itself out.

Anyway if you're looking for a high-power native Linux office suite, and

don't want to spend $99 for AnyWare, which used to be Applixware, and
has been my main workhorse, have fun with Star Office 6. This beast is
who says Linux can't do the desktop?

I have SO 5.2 and like it alot. It has a very nicely integrated office
suite including browser photoshop and prsentation stuff. It is handy
for working across platform to M$ docs. My one BIG problem is that with
the Red Hat 7.1 Linux Installation the Email in SO 5.2 does not run
sendmail properly. I have begged all the Star Support Lists to post up a
fix for this and no one has.

Can you tell me if SO 6 has this sorted?
