Hi,

I have been using vnc on my linux box quite
successfully for some time.

Basically, the only config files are in ~/.vnc
namely, 'xstartup' needs to be edited to start
the window manager and programs (such as
panel and/or sawfish) that you want to be
running when you connect.

Mine is as follows (minus the header stuff..)
xrdb $HOME/.Xresources
xsetroot -solid blue
sawfish &
panel &
gnome-terminal -title "Walt's Command Centre" &

Also, I don't run the server as root (since I
can always su root from a term window).

Does X start and run properly from the console?

Walt
