I've been having the 'can't wake up' problem on my P-III, and I don't know
whether it's BIOS or kernel related yet. You can turn off sleep mode in
the bios and/or recompile the kernel to not use APM if the control-panel
fix doesn't work. I'd suggest killing it in BIOS, personally.
