Also, if you haven't tried Debian 2.2, give it a shot.  I had trouble with
the 2.1 install, but 2.2 is working just great on my systems.  It looks like
they streamlined the install process and got rid of a lot of the
configuration questions.  I didn't like how it would want you to configure
every app on the system, even if you weren't going to use it.

agreed.  stormix was actually the first successful install of a linux system
I had.  it went very smoothly, and it seems to readily install on more
systems than some of the other distros I've found.  (we're talking prior to
massive configuration on those other installs).
