I did manage to add an item to a menu, but only by manually editing and
placing a .desktop file in the proper folder.  Argh!  Yes, I guess it pay=
s
to know how it works and to get under the hood, but... I still want
kmenuedit back!

For the most part, I'm still living in KDE 1.1.2 (or some other desktop
environment and window manager, depending on my moods), but I am definite=
ly
addicted to the new version of KMail, and it runs just fine outside of KD=
E2
