# actually 0x340 will interfere with many SCSI cards.

# 0x300 did freeze my machine and all it had was a SB16 card at IRQ 5,
0x220. 
It did not object to using IRQ 7. Many network cards only
use the IRQ to initialize the card and many printing jobs do not use the
IRQ at all so the dual use will co-exist!

Interrupts in that range are a complete
who knows in that range and has no specific purposes.  Interrupt 7 is
parallel
of course so not usually a good idea.

# Again.. mdoules are not necessarily required for this. Here he has
only one
brand of card so he does not have to wrry about compiling the driver
into the kernel. Unless memory is a problem.
