Hi,

Heh, it's working as supposed to now!!
Faxes I recieve get automatically printed
out on the printer!
I had simply supplied the wrong command.
The way to go is:
tiff2ps $1 > fax.ps | cat fax.ps | gs -q -dNOPAUSE -sDEVICE=cdj550 -r300 -sOutputFile=- - | lpr
This command is inserted in the file /var/spool/fax/bin/faxrcvd
*Sigh* I wish I had waited to write to this list... it's kinda embarrasing ;-)
Anyway.. now I hopefully can supply help to others that may have problems
setting up Hylafax.. and get it to print out the faxes!

Subject: [techtalk] Printing problem.

Hi,

I have a small network at home, and it looks like this:
Box1 - webserver, mailserver, printserver
Box2 - my puter, dual win/linux
Box3 - my boyfriends puter
Box4 - faxserver

Ok, now to the problem.
It's Box4 that's causing the problems... the faxserver. I actually
managed to set up Hylafax and get it up and running. (whee)
However, I'm not able to print the faxes to the network printer...
I'm able to print ascii text from Box4 but not postscript...

The hylafax faq has a section describing how to transform faxfiles
to postscript and pipe the file to a printer.. When I supply that command
on the commandline I get out 3 or 4 pages of nonsence..

As it is now.. I'll have to transform the fax file (it's in .tif format) to a .ps
file. Then transfer it to my puter (Box2, linux) and then manually type
"lpr filename.ps" from the commandline. The postscript file then prints out on Box1.
So... the problem is not in Hylafax itself.. it's simply a printing problem on Box4.
And since Box2 and Box4 have different systems, i can't just "copy" my working
printcap to Box4.. suse have their own filters...

Box2 have mandrake7.0 and Box4 has suse6.0.

I'm not good at explaining.. but if more info is needed, pls let me know ;-)

I'm really confused about this.. ;-)

TIA
