Hi Terri,

I don't know what is special about windows media player, but you could try
tweaking the preferences of winamp for higher priority. Likewise when I
start xmms under linux on a slow machine a script renices it to -10 so it
won't skip. Also I found xmms runs much better using the OSS driver - the
enlightenment sound daemon chews a bit of cpu time.
