I was able to reset the drive like this:

[root at caladan BobMarley]# cdrecord -reset dev=2,0
Cdrecord 1.9 (i586-mandrake-linux-gnu) Copyright (C) 1995-2000 Jörg
Schilling
scsidev: '2,0'
scsibus: 0 target: 2 lun: 0
Linux sg driver version: 2.1.39
Using libscg version 'schily-0.1'
[root at caladan BobMarley]#

Now it's working again... next will be the real test...

Does anyone know what this error means?
