Hey Jen,
  Just went in and studied the printter configs for my work. We are using
RH6.1 w/lpd for printing. I'm hoping that Suse uses lpd as well but I'm
not sure. Any how, in /var/spool/lpd/lp(x) edit the textonly.cfg and make
sure that there is a line that reads:
CRLFTRANS=1
This apparently correctly translates the Carraige return/Line Feeds. If
Suse doesn't use the same layout you would still be looking for the
printer config files (ie-> printer.cfg) in /var/spool/lpd/lp(x).
Let me know if this works or not and I can check out a few other options.
This was just a 5min scan.

When he prints from Netscape, the page is printed properly, but when he prints a text file, it stair-steps. I gave him my printcap and tarred my whole lp directory and he replaced his own. Same problem. It works great on mine, but his stair-steps. He uses KDE and if he prints from any of his KDE applications he still has this problem. I'm not familiar with KDE as I run Gnome pretty much exclusively. Can anyone help?
