[prog] Programming for QA folks

Hi all,

FWIW, I do my testing with bash plus shell utilities (most common
being grep, tr and awk), and when i want something more complicated, I
use python, for the same reason others have already pointed out: I can
read my code even after years of writing it.

If I need complicated data-handling I tend to gravitate towards lisp.
But I control the computers I do testing on, so I can get whatever it
is I want for the job I need to do.
