Apologies to those of you who are receiving multiple copies of the
election mailings - they are being sent to all relevant Linuxchix
mailing lists, so if you are subscribed to more than one list you will
receive more than one copy.

As most of you know, we have been without a coordinator since Mary's
resignation. It has been decided that we should have not just *one*
new coordinator, but *three*!

The election is now under way, and the candidates are as follows:

Sulamita Garcia
Isabelle Hurbain
Akkana Peck
Carla Schroder
Valorie Zimmerman

You will be receiving a separate email containing 'election
statements' from each candidate - please read the statements carefully
before casting your votes.

To ensure that all candidates receive 'equal airtime' for their views,
they have all been requested NOT to take part in any further
discussions on mailing lists, IRC or by email on the future of
Linuxchix, role of coordinator or any other election-related matter
until the voting is over. Please do not embarrass them by asking, or
consider them rude when they do not answer!

*HOW TO VOTE*

Because there are three posts to be filled, you may vote for up to
three candidates.

You do not have to use all three of your votes - if you feel that only
one or two of the candidates would be suitable coordinators, you can
use only one or two of your votes.

To vote, send an email to chixelection at googlemail.com with "Vote" in
the subject line and the names of the one, two or three candidates you
are voting for in the body of the message.

Votes sent to any other email address or to the mailing lists will not
be counted.

The deadline for voting is *12 noon UK time (BST) on 5 August 2007* -
votes received after the deadline will not be counted.

The election result will be announced on 8-9 August 2007.

If you have any questions regarding the election procedure, please
email chixelection at googlemail.com - please don't ask on the mailing
lists because the election team members don't have time to monitor all
posts on all lists!
