RESPONSIBILITIES
• Building, configuring, monitoring and maintaining all network components
both in our offices as well as in local and overseas datacenters
• Enterprise system administration of Linux and Windows servers and network
infrastructure in the datacenters
• Assist with proposals and implementation of backend data infrastructure for
customers
• Assist development team on product optimization as it relates to site
performance and scalability
• Evaluate and assess IT use and needs and recommend improvements
• Manage backup and recovery of systems
• Participate in release management process and maintain software components
related to release management
• Run live, production environment updates for existing and new applications
• Procurement of hardware and software equipment and interface with vendors
• Application of security updates
REQUIRED
• In-depth Knowledge of Linux and tools to support infrastructure in a data
center environment
• Knowledge of interpretive languages such as Perl or Python as well as
experience with shell scripting
• Experience with database admin -- particularly MySQL
• Strong networking background in enterprise lan design and support
• Network security design and support -- Firewalls (commercial and
Opensource), SSL, SSH, access control management
• Knowledge of virtual machines and ability to configure, start, and clone VMs
• Design of high availability and disaster recovery strategies and infrastructure
• Experience in implementation and management of internal IT policies
• Effective communication skills
DESIRABLE
• Hands-On Experience in setting up Fedora, RedHat, OpenBSD
• Knowledge of Xen, VMWare virtualization systems
• Managing Windows Servers and Desktops
• Experience supporting development environments using SVN, CVS
• Experience working with sites running PHP, Apache, Lighttpd, FastCGI, HAProxy
• Experience with distributed file systems -- MogileFS, GlusterFS
• Experience with Cisco Appliances
• Experience with NoSQL databases -- Memcache, Redis, Cassandra
• Ability to travel internationally for setting up remote servers
* Qualifications - Preferred Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or
Information Systems or related field, 5+ years industry experience
