Linux engineer
Job Location: Boortmeerbeek, Belgium
Job Title: Linux engineer
Job Duration: Long term
Contract: Permanent or contractor (perm preferred)

Job Description:

As a Linux Engineer, you will work with a group of engineers as a scrum
team (Agile methodology) to implement tasks incrementally over a series
of sprints. You have a knack for digging deep into networking problems
and Quality of Service issues. You have a very deep knowledge of Linux
(on Ubuntu and Debian systems) and extensive scripting skills.
You will need to be comfortable working closely with the developers and
engineers as new features and architectures are designed and implemented
and deliver your creative input. You should be able to estimate the
consequences and work involved with the complex networking
infrastructure.
The engineering team is multi-disciniplinary and therefore you should be
a technical generalist.

Qualifications:

   - Must be an expert in Linux and fluent in shell scripting.
   - Proven track record in complex networking environments,
     specifically satellite, cellular and wifi networking.
   - Knowledge and experience in landscape, radius, vlan, rstp.
   - Programming skills (python, java) is a big plus.
   - Fluently speaking English, Dutch is a big plus.
   - Place of employment at 21Net, Boortmeerbeek, Belgium, willing to
     travel for short durations to solve problems on-train if necessary.
   - Have a good sense of humour and like a challenge
