Based in Los Angeles, Comcast Entertainment Group operates E!
Entertainment Television, the 24-hour network with programming dedicated
to the world of entertainment, and E! Online; the Style Network, the
destination for women 18-49 with a passion for the best in relatable and
inspiring lifestyle programming; and G4, offering the last word on
gaming, technology, animation, interactivity and "Internet culture" for
the male 18-34 demo.

E! is currently available to nearly 94 million cable and
direct-broadcast satellite subscribers in the United States. In 2006, E!
launched the E! Everywhere initiative, underscoring the company's
dedication to making E! content available on all new media platforms
anytime and anywhere. Today, E!'s video content can be viewed where and
when consumers want to watch it, from video on E! Online and other
partner sites such as iTunes, Hulu or Comcast.net to Video on Demand or
mobile content on Sprint and Verizon.

The VP, Interactive Technology, is an integral part of the Comcast
Entertainment Group (CEG) (Interactive Technology) leadership team and
works closely with them to identify opportunities where CEG can continue
to leverage technology to provide the company with a competitive edge in
the marketplace. This role oversees the development, deployment and
support of all on-line technology platforms needed to support the
diverse products and services offered specific to our core networks. The
VP of Interactive Technology also oversees the technology efforts needed
to expand CEG's product offerings and will continue to develop and
deliver new capabilities and enhance existing systems for the CEG web
businesses. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 

*    Strategically drives interactive technology across all lines of
business, globally

*    Accountable for site architecture across all lines of business,
ensuring code is leveraged, where possible, across all network on-line
properties and is consistent with CEG architectural standards

*    Owns CEG's central applications, platforms, services and
technologies, including Flash frameworks, client registration and
community platforms, search, analytics and original content

*    Executive owner of all CEG Interactive development, release and
quality assurance processes and procedures

*    Oversees the architecture, execution and support the content
strategy for CEG network websites which include: Eonline.com,
mystyle.com, G4tv.com and FEARnet.com

*    Ensures quality assurance as well as software verification and
validation across all CEG interactive site products and services

*    Oversees standards of the QA department's white/black box testing
as well as performance and automated testing

*    Shares responsibility for production, operations, hosting and CDNs,
ensuring that services are delivered in the most reliable and cost
effective manner

*    Owns the relationship with CEG's Platform Technology Group (PTG)
team, ensuring that CEG's on-line project requirements are communicated
and met, and ensuring that both organizations are aligned on process,
procedure, architecture and technology roadmaps

*    Works closely with the Platform Technology Group Product,
Architecture and IT Operations (PMO) teams to ensure smooth development
across projects

*    Works closely with (PTG) and CEG Finance dept. to minimize costs
where appropriate, and manage future investment

*    Participates and collaborates with the CTOs senior technology team,
ensuring technology is leveraged across all Comcast Entertainment Group
lines of business

*    Owns and drives the key technology vendor relationships

*    Oversees any requirements for the upgrade and/or replacement of
technology solutions and works with key suppliers on technology based
initiatives for CEG

*    Provides on-going assessment and development of the CEG's
interactive technology team

 

QUALIFICATIONS 

*    B.S. degree in Computer Science or related field, Masters Degree
preferred

*    12+ years experience in software design, development, and
implementation 

*    10+ years of management experience with at least three at the
executive level 

*    Demonstrated record of innovative technology development,
management and delivery

*    Experience leading large technology teams (50+) team members with a
significant number of Director-level direct reports

*    Extensive experience in the development of product & platform,
web/open source software and architectures

*    Deep understanding of core Internet delivery technology; extensive
experience in the analysis and design of software systems; ability to
make decisions and drive platform architecture

*    Experience in development and management of highly available and
scalable Internet systems

*    Experience with new media systems and platforms a plus

*    Experience with streaming media (at scale)

*    Experience working closely with creative staff 

*    Strong communication ability, written and verbal 

*    Ability to translate business needs into technology requirements;
ability to identify and create technology solutions for requirements

*    Diplomatic skills and experience necessary to work in a highly
matrixed organization
