Job Description
The Omneon Storage and Applications group builds high performance
networked storage systems for the video broadcast and production
industry.
The product is MediaGrid which is a grid storage system architected for
digital media workflows based on the distributed file system developed
at Omneon for MediaGrid.
Successful Candidates
We are looking for two senior software engineers with experience in
developing system level modules for distributed file system or storage
solutions.
We prefer technical leaders who can help us to drive the current and
future requirements of Omneon MediaGrid storage system.
The successful candidates will be involved in design and implementation
of architectural innovation in the distributed file system software
running on Linux servers.
He or she will also be involved in development of solutions in the
distributed file system based on market requirements.
We require candidates who understand and practice software development
disciplines focusing on product availability, usability, serviceability,
manageability, and performance.
Other Responsibilities include:
1. Define scopes and delivery schedules for current and future
requirements of MediaGrid distributed file system
2. Work with development staff, architects, and other technical
leads to scope new requirements and create development plans for product
enhancements
3. Work with QA and development engineers to track quality issues
and implement plans to resolve issues according to priorities and
project schedules
4. Ensure all deliverables are completed within acceptable quality
and architectural standard
5. Following best practices for software projects and delivery
Requirements
1. Self driven, highly motivated, highly skilled senior software
engineer capable of designing and implementing complex software
solutions
2. Leadership quality for driving projects which small number of
engineers
3. Minimum of BS in Computer Science or equivalent
4. 3-5 years of UNIX and/or Linux system level development
experience
5. Prefer 2 years of project leadership
6. Understanding of storage solutions based on NAS and/or SAN
technologies and clustering solutions for availability
7. File system development experience or proven track record for
working on complex solutions and, high-performance architectures
8. TCP/IP network programming is a plus
