QA Analyst (Operating Systems) - OS0211:*
We need a capable, flexible, enthusiastic and positive individual join
our Operating Systems Team as a QA Analyst.
The essential responsibilities of this position will include: Coordinate
and manage testing activities of the operating system. Design, execute,
and maintain test plans and test cases. Interview development engineers
as well as international project teams in both group and individual
settings to clearly determine the test requirements for a project or
release. Collaborate with engineers, QA colleagues and project managers
to understand the requirements for testing. Manage database of test
cases: identify, document, and update existing test plans of the English
and international versions of the operating system. Work closely with
project managers to prioritize defects, assist in the timely resolution
of defects, and verify defect fixes. Engage the insider community in
reviewing components of the operating system: solicit support to help
validate and test packages. Maintain an insider bug tracking system:
including responding and reporting, tracking progress and resolving
issues. Liaise with the international QA teams of our key partners.
REQUIREMENTS - You must be self-motivated to complete task independently
and communicate effectively with a technical team. You should have a
good understanding of the product release cycle and a good understanding
of QA methodologies (ISO9000, CMM) and terminologies, as well as an
understanding of the software development life cycle. 3+ years
experience as a QA Analyst in a software development environment (or
comparable practical experience). Practical experience with Unix or
Linux. Good understanding of bash scripting and functional programming
languages. Good grasp of defect tracking systems (preferably Bugzilla).
Experience testing software within different deployment environments
(Linux, Windows). Experience with web technologies such as HTML, XML,
Java, and JavaScript.
QUALIFICATIONS - Outstanding written and verbal communication skills for
technical and non-technical audiences. Strong analytical and
organizational skills, strong attention to detail. Good understanding of
project management and problem solving skills. Comfortable working under
tight deadlines, with minimal supervision, to deliver high-quality products
EDUCATION - BS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline (or
comparable experience)
