Roles & Responsibilities
Software Engineer 
Linux Platform Support Package (PSP) competitive and customer driven
extension development. This is a TTM (Time to Market) project consisting
of development work in the Linux OS environment based on prescribed
development plans and schedule. The resulting deliverable will service
future Linux PSP solutions for the organization and other customers.

In this position, the contactor will specify software extensions and
enhancements to open source and proprietary software and drive technical
requirements into externally developed software components. 

The contractor will be a key contributor to the customer engagement
and custom solution engineering teams. Design documents will be authored
and code reviews will be conducted.
The candidate must be a self-starter with outstanding written and verbal
communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a small, but
rapidly growing team. Travel is not required.  

MUST HAVE SKILLS:  Bash, Perl, Python, C, C++ and embedded Linux
kernel, driver and user space application programming experience is
required. The candidate must demonstrate a working knowledge of firmware
fundamentals and the Linux boot sequence. 
Experience working with custom Linux distributions and component
assemblies is required. Familiarity with embedded systems, power management,
memory management,
platform performance evaluation and tuning, kernel configuration and
low-level graphics interfaces all pertaining to Linux is required.

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:  Knowledge of typical DSTB or digital media center
HW architectures is required.  Knowledge of Digital Cable, ATSC, DVB,
and MPEG2 would be highly valued. 
Windows CE familiarity is desired but not required.
