Linux Software Engineer
Summary:
We are looking for someone who is strong on the Linux Development side,
and who has the disposition to work at the low level programming area.
If you have the networking background in TCP/IP, sonnet, etc, that is a
plus, but not required. The same applies to the applications side of
Linux, it can be a plus, but if you don't have the low level experience
at the Kernel level it, then you will not be qualified.
Job Description:
Work with internal team and 3rd party software vendor to
port 3rd party software to a Linux platform. Participate on a project
team
of engineers involved in development of software for Cisco and other
networking company products.
Requires use of a strong background in SW design, documentation and
implementation, on projects that may include any of the following list
of
responsibilities: Design applications involving multi-platforms. Design
and
develop new software product features. Define product internal/external
interfaces. Develop complex, multiple modules of code independently.
Write
complete functional and design specs independently. Contribute to the
development of project goals, schedules, and resource planning.
Interface
with other functional groups. Solves complex problems at the system
level.
Define product level test and simulation strategy. Research and
understand
evolving security threats. Develop new methods of detecting exploitation
of
evolving security threats.
Requirements:
1. 5+ years experience of Networking C Programming in a Linux/Solaris
development environment.
2. Experience with Linux/Solaris kernel/device driver development. 3.
Experience with TCP/IP and/or other network protocol development. 4.
In-depth knowledge and strong experience in VPN's, IDS, Firewall, ACLs,
and Virus fighting.
5. Excellent written and verbal communication, and presentation skills.
