EUMETSAT (the organisation responsible for European weather satellites) is
looking for a Software Engineer for a 4 year contract.

"DUTIES:  	

The Software Engineer will manage the maintenance and delta-development for
satellite monitoring & control facilities in the Ground Segment of the
EUMETSAT Polar System (EPS). Reporting to the Head of Maintenance and
Engineering Division, the Software Engineer will lead a small team of
computer engineers and manage projects within the Operations Department."

"QUALIFICATIONS:  	

The successful candidate for this post will have a University degree (or
equivalent) in a relevant discipline and a minimum of three years experience
in maintaining large-scale software systems in an operational environment,
preferably directly related to high-availability (24 h/day) applications.
Experience in spacecraft monitoring and control systems (TM/TC processing)
in general and the EPOCH suite of Integral would be a distinct advantage.

Practical experience is required in:

    * integration and test of complex monitoring & control software systems;
    * C and C++ programming languages;
    * computer operating systems (IBM AIX 5L);
    * computer and network architectures, TCP/IP;
    * relational databases (ORACLE);
    * configuration control of operational systems and software development
    * environments.
