Java/J2EE Lead Engineer 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: 
· Provide technical leadership to a project team. This
includes the analysis of use cases and requirements,
brainstorming, design and implementation of new
software. 
· Mentor engineers to improve design and
implementation skills. 
· Work with Engineering Manager to provide work
breakdown and estimates, identify risks and define
iterations and milestones for software delivery. 
· Write production quality code in Java and J2EE while
meeting implementation deadlines. 
· Adhere to software development and source control
processes. 
· Provide the software development and product
management teams with feedback on the product
(manageability, supportability, robustness,
functionality, etc.). 
· The candidate will be involved in creative problem
solving and coordinating with members of a
cross-functional team such as Requirements Management,
Quality Services, Operations and other technical
teams. 
· Be an evangelist for best practices and new
technology within the Engineering team. 

ESSENTIAL SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS: 
· 3+ years of experience as a team lead. 
· Must have 4+ years of Object Oriented server-side
development and design experience in a multi-tiered
environment. 
· 3+ years experience with Java and J2EE technologies
particularly Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) development 
· Experience working with relational databases
required. 
· 2+ years experience with UML required. 
· Experience with a high volume transactional system. 
· Big Pluses: 
o Experience with XML/XSL and Web Services (especially
SOAP) protocols 
o Experience working with BEA Weblogic server 
o Experience working with Linux OS 
o Experience with UML modeling tools such as Rational
Rose. 
o Experience with Rational Clearcase 
o Familiarity with Rational Unified Process (RUP) and
an iterative development process. 
o Oracle experience 
· As a team leader, qualified candidate must have
excellent communication skills 
· A passion for hands-on technical problem solving. 
· Ability to work in a high-pressure environment. 

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED: 
BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering,
