Hi all,

Greetings,

Thanks for your active participation in the discussion on the second day of
PyDelhi Conf'17.

The purpose of the discussion was to recognise and appreciate the efforts
of existing women in computing. Also, the aim was to find methods to help
increase participation of women in community events, workshops and open
source contributions.

The points raised to help achieving the goal were as follows:

   - Involve more college students at the initial stage of their studies so
that they could get ample time to enhance their skills.
   - Increase awareness by involving more women through dedicated groups on
   social media.
   - Providing incentives to allure women to attend conferences and
   workshops.
   - Organising women only comprehensive introductory workshops to help
   understand the basics of computing.
   - Encourage the formation of local groups in smaller cities around the
country to educate and inspire candidates at their convenience.
   - Conducting live sessions through webinars to educate women in
   computing.
   - Encourage the participation of women in organising team of conferences
and more sessions by women speakers can help a lot in motivating other
women to shed their inhibitions and come forward.
   - Collaborating with regional women colleges to conduct workshops to
   educate them.
   - One of the suggestions was to identify women around you and mentor
them. Initial guidance through a mentor can encourage them to pursue career
   in technology.

This was just a small effort to initiate the discussion. If you have more
ideas on the agenda, please reply on this thread for your suggestions.

Regards,
Priyal
