Technical Officer and Policy Analyst.

The Software Freedom Law Center, a New Delhi based not-for-profit legal
services organization that provides legal representation and other
law-related services to protect and advance Free and Open Source
Software (FOSS), is looking for a motivated individual to join us as the
Chief Technical Officer and Policy Analyst.

The Candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining an
entirely FOSS small office IT infrastructure including: desktop
machines, printing, scanning, shared document storage, networking,
webservers, VPN, VOIP, and backups. In addition to these technology
administration duties, the Candidate will be responsible for providing
technical understanding and support to the lawyers in their legal work.
The CTO will also be expected to make public presentations on topics
relating to technology and FOSS.

The candidates should have a Computer Science or Engineering degree from
a reputed University, minimum of three (3) years of experience
administering linux based FOSS systems, strong interpersonal and
communication skills and an active interest in social policy, law and
technology. Strong preference for candidates with demonstrated
experience in putting custom FOSS office or other system installs out of
existing components.

Salary is comparable to public sector positions in New Delhi and
not commensurate with private practice. To apply, please submit a
resume in a free data format (such as OpenOffice) to
mishi at softwarefreedom.org.
