[IndiChix] [publicity] Submit FOSS related papers and projects

Hi,
This is Debayan from GNU/Linux Users' Group, NIT Durgapur. I wanted to
inform you about the Annual National Level Technical Symposium on GNU/Linux
- MUKTI'09 from 6th-8th February'09 at NIT Durgapur. [www.mukti09.in ]
Right from MUKTI'05 when it was a National Level Workshop, MUKTI has had
only one aim, to encourage adoption of Linux and Open Source Software among
the students. MUKTI promises to be a mixture of Competitions and Workshops
that focus on Linux and Free Open Source Software Movement (FOSS).
MUKTI'09 consists of two main Semi-online Events:-
openPAPER:-
MUKTI'09 provides you with the unique platform to showcase your ideas in
front of the world. openPAPER, the paper presentation contest welcomes your
ideas on Free and Open Source Softwares(FOSS) in the form of paper.
openPaper:-
Scenarios should be related to one or more of the following: GNU/Linux, Open
Source & Free Software.
Rules and Regulations
The event consists of 2 stages:
* Online Submission of Abstract
* Paper presentation
Stage 1:
* Each team can have maximum of 3 members.
* Abstract must be submitted in one of the following formats: ".pdf",
".odf", ".odt".(OpenOffice format)
* The size of the abstract must not exceed 2 Mega bytes(Mb).
*Once selected, the teams would be reimbursed a One way Fare in the Second
Sleeper (SL) Class. *
Stage 2:
* Projectors and computers will be provided for presentations.
* The paper must be presented in ".odp" file format only. No other file
formats would be considered.
* Each team will be provided 10 minutes for presentation and 5 minutes for
question/answer round.
* Each team should bring at least 4 hard copies of their paper and a
softcopy in a CD/DVD.
openPROJECT:-
Scenarios should be related to one or more of the following: GNU/Linux,
Open Source & Free Software.

* The complete project along with the support materials and resources should
be brought along by the participant.
* Each team will be provided 10 minutes for presentating their project and 5
minutes for question/answer round.
* Each team should bring at least 4 hard copies of their project.
The decision taken by the jury would be final and binding. Any requests
for re-evaluation will not be considered.
Eligibility:
The event is open for all undergraduate and postgraduate students, studying
in an AICTE affiliated college. All Members of the teams should bring their
college identity cards.
