Hey Hassath:

These are important concerns you raise. I have identified reasons to keep
the LinuxChix name in the mailing list before:

- The main organization carries this names, so it affects us search engines
wise, tagging wise
- How would our representation change?

But having said that I see why some people have problem with the "chix"
getting deer-in-the-headlight eyed as "chicks"

No not all name suggestions are Sanskrit/Sanskritised words.
Svantatara/Swadhinata are bangla for freedom. If you have a language-free
name you want to suggest add it in the page.

It appears from your email that you want to keep the LinuxChix name, which
is fine too! I like it as well.

This is a community effort so it becomes necessary to see how our community
views it. No, we are not trying to convince anyone. But we should have the
right mindset to spread the spirit. OT quote, but be a roman in Rome?

May I suggest we add a page at linuxchix.org.in and create voting for "How
many people have problem with the LinuxChix name?"

I have said this before, "What's in a name that which we call a rose"..so if
we were doing LinuxChix-ish things/ conductiong LinuxChix-ish activities/
promoting outreach of LinuxChix-ish agenda will the name be just a name
then, but only easier to promote..

I need more coffee :)
