Just found this uniquely helpful site for people who have heard of the
upcoming language (from a very long time ago) called Ruby (more
popularised by the RAILS framework...http://rubyonrails.org)

Most gnu/linux distros do pack in the ruby interpreter by default. for
those who haven't had it installed yet or want to try it out without
installing or are still using windows (or similar vendor-friendly
OSes) may try out the irb (Interactive Ruby Shell) at the
http://tryruby.hobix.com/ site. The tutorial is dynamic and you can
try out all the commands.

For a more comprehensive manual. one can refer to "Programming in
Ruby: The Pragmatic Programmers Guide" at
http://www.rubycentral.com/book/ although it's the older version of
the book, it should still suffice to help one to grasp the basics.

The homepage of the language is http://www.ruby-lang.org/en/

HTH....some one. :)
