Hi all,
I just wanted to talk a bit about what's up with Moodle right now, since
some folks seem to be struggling with it.
First off, if you want to use Moodle, you need to create an account on
linuxchix.org.
There is still the single sign on bug with Drupal and Moodle, so that
some people can't login at all. So if you can't log in, it's a bug, it's
not you. Most people can, but sometimes you need to go back to
linxchix.org, log out, log back in, and navigate back to
courses.linuxchix.org to be allowed into Moodle.
I don't know whether this bug will get fixed, or when, or how. So I
apologize.
I'm posting all lessons and assignments both on the email list and on
Moodle, and you can submit your assignments via the list, or via moodle.
I'm reading assigments and questions on both. Up to you. (Each week, I
will at least ask everyone to write about *something* whether it is a
distinct answer to a question, or just a "this is how it went" few
sentences. Of course, you can do this, or not, as you'd like.)
I'd like to encourage as many people as possible to use Moodle because:
1) You learn the platform
2) I learn the platform :-)
3) Linuxchix gets the experience of how one of our courses goes on Moodle.
That said, using Moodle isn't required for this course.
Peace,
Michelle
