Hi Akkana & everyone;

I started with two photos I took 31 December 2004, returning from a
visit to my granddaughter (who might appear in subsequent lessons ;)
). These landscapes were both taken at a designated "scenic overlook"
looking south at the Tennessee/North Carolina border on US Hwy 23.
They're in the following web directory:

http://www.bobsloansampler.com/gimp/lesson1/

The originals are ./004_1.jpg and ./007_4.jpg and are very large, about
400Kb, and anyone who would like to is welcome to use them. (Two other
large (over 400Kb) mountain scene images are in that directory and you
are welcome to use those as well)

The finals are ./01f.jpg and ./02.jpg, with a transitory ./01.jpg in
between cropping & scaling the first one.

./004_1.jpg(390.8k)   cropped to   ./01.jpg(49.7k)

./01.jpg(1472 x 504)   scaled to   ./01f.jpg(736 x 252 & 11.4k)

./007_4.jpg(1536 x 1024 & 403.9Kb) cropped & scaled to ./02.jpg(575 x
401 & 19.5Kb)

Probably much more information than you wanted!

Enjoy  :)
Julie
