Hi Telsa
The debian command (using woody [aka stable]) :
# apt-cache search vim
lists (amoungst other related packages):
vim - Vi IMproved - enhanced vi editor
vim-gtk - Vi IMproved - GTK version
vim-perl - Vi IMproved, with perl scripting support
vim-python - Vi IMproved, with python scripting support
vim-ruby - Vi IMproved, with ruby scripting support
vim-scripts - plugins for vim, adding bells and whistles
vim-tcl - Vi IMproved, with tcl scripting support
so I think vimtutor is wrapped up with vim and vim-gtk. I'm not sure
if it is part of the other vims with extra support but I'd guess so.
I've got plain vim installed and vimtutor JustWorks(tm).
Hmmm. When you say source rpms I mean the binary packages eg:
/var/cache/apt/archives/vim_6.0.093-2_i386.deb but I have compiled vim
from source and it was pretty straightforward too.
