Hello all... My name is Ivanovi.

Recently one of my friend asked me what is open source?

My question given was : Any code which is distributed freely, for example, I 
wrote a program, and I put it on the net so that it is accessible by 
everyone, it is called open source.

However, she argued, she said : Open source is a commity, they distribute 
the software which is freely distributed.

May I know any comment about the answers??
