Thanks for all your input, however I was looking for something more specific.
I should have provided more information about what I had already tried and was not successful with.

Last week, I umounted /dev/sdb last week and attempted to reconfigure with gparted.

Unfortunately, "parted" is not familiar to me and the syntax did not make sense to me. When I tried to give it the "xfs" file type I got a message that "parted" doesn't support "xfs"

So I was thinking that instead of booting into Rescue mode, and using gparted I'd have to do something else.

Maybe "type" should be "gpt" instead of "xfs" ?

If someone could help me out either with
1. the syntax that I need for "parted" or
2. booting into CentOS CD OTHER than the "rescue" mode that will help me solve my problem, that would be more helpful.

And this is for Ricardo who also misspelled my name:
The RAID is RAID 6 and we already have 2 spare HDs.
This is long term storage so we don't need a fail-over, all we need is tape backup, which we also have.
But thanks for your "concern".
